This piece was inspired by my love of the coast – I’m not specifically interested in birds, rather the system as a whole, but I do like watching shorebirds particularly as part of the timeless environment of the coast. It evokes the flocking habit of Dunlin – a group of seemingly identical birds, but each is uniquely different both in life and in my sculpture.
